We build big SMATV headends that fulfill the needs of the big hotel complexes as well as simpler but still technologically accomplished options of smaller SMATV antenna systems for smaller buildings.

Antenna TV systems are tailored to meet the demands and financial conditions of an individual customer. The antenna TV systems can be roughlly divide into the following groups: satellite antenna TV systems, digital terrestrial antenna TV systems and combined systems.

The common ways to distribute a TV signal received from the antennas inside a single building are the following:

• Analoque output signal SMATV headend for clasical VHF/UHF coaxial distribution network and TV sets having an analogue tuner.
• Digital output signal SMATV headend (DVB-T/C) for clasical VHF/UHF coaxial
  distribution network and (LCD) TV sets with integrated digital DVB-T/C tuner.
• Digital output IPTV signal SMATV headend for IP network distribution and TV sets with an IPTV STB unit added.
• Decentralised multi-switch distribution to distribute direct satellite TV signal over coaxial multiswitch network and TV sets with an integrated satellite DVB-S/S2 receiver or an additional external DVB-S/S2 STB unit. (most siutable for small hotels).

The receiving antennas

The receiving antennas system is usually composed of satellite and terrestrial antennas. The satellite part usually contains one multifeed satellite dish that can contemporarry receives up to 4 satellites. Depending on the geographical location of where an individual object is, the digital terrestrial part is composed of one or multiple terrestrial antennas. Number of antennas depends on the local and neighbour countries transmitter locations.

Antenna TV headend

Smaller buildings can have the terrestrial antennas only, without a satellite dish. This makes it easier to make a TV headend because we don't need to convert the satellite signals. We usually only need to filter and amplify the DVB-T terrestrial signals and join them in a single trunk cable. The coaxial cable then gets branched and distributed by the coaxial distribution network that reaches any single TV set in the building.

A bit more complicated is the construction of the antenna TV headend with additional satellite TV signal channels because we need to receive and convert not all, but only the satellite signal that a guest needs. It's important to make a suitable channel list for a hotel guest or any other building residents because involving the unnecessary and undesired channels may cause confusion and displeasure of a guest when they browse the channels to watch on the TV.

Owning your own antenna TV headend brings many advantages, compared to a CATV or IPTV operator.

The most significant advantages are:

• no monthlly operator subscription fee
• high picture quality (even HD programs where technically possible)
• TV channels list, tailor made for hotel guest or building residents
• possibility of variabile TV channels for special guest or groups of guest
  ( »ad-hoc« adding of a TV channel not found in the regular channel list )
• possibility of internal »hotel« promo TV channels
• due to the channels in their home language, foreign hotel guest are more pleased
• return of investment (compared to a subscription fee) in approx. 3-4 years,
  depending on the building size and excact configuration of the system.
